Abstract:

Anyone who studies elegies about Imam Hossein (AS)) in Poems would find themes which narrate great events at the same time show the extent that poets are affected by events of Karbala. The achievements of present study, that has studied the elegy of Imam Hossein (AS) in poems attributed to Imam Sajjad (AS) using a descriptive-analytic approach, suggest that in these verses in addition to themes like evoking a spirit of repentance among people or encouraging them to revolt against Umayyad corrupted rulers; some of that period’s features such as Umayyad rulersinjustice and innocence of Prophet (A)'s family and also ignorance and stupidity of people because of excess of common wealth and concern about material world is reflected.

Abstract:

The prayers of Imam Sajjad (AS) have a special artistic style that contribute to a great body of our religious literature. Therefore, it is essential to pay due attention to this aspect of the prayers also known as the prayer literature. In this paper, we try to analyze the imagery created through personification in the prayers of Imam Sajjad (AS) with the aim of portraying emotion, movement and dynamism. Findings from the review suggest that emotion and dynamism proceeded from personification hasn’ t been limited to human but also is used to from other animals. Personification not used in these prayers as a rheotic but it has been employed in agreement with the moral relationship with the Creator which is the very purpose of the prayers and this makes the audience find a kind of dynamic prayers and better relationship with God. In addition to brief personification, extended personification has also been used in the prayers. The elements that are personified in the prayers are beyond the mundane world and exist in the form of abstract concepts such as praise and Ramadan etc. which could be argued that they have received more attention in the religious literature and the prayer literature, in particular.

Abstract:

Discourse analysis explores the process of the speech production to identify the conditions of production of different religious, social and political speeches, their modes of production, and the interaction of the text’ s readers with the speech. The story of Farazdaq's poem in praise of Imam Sajjad (AS) is very well-known. He was a famous poet in the Umayyad era (19-110 AH). He made Hisham, the Umayyad caliph, ashamed and defeated this powerful ruler of the time with his poetry and lexicons. Other than praising Imam Sajjad (AS), he has presented the beliefs, thoughts and political-religious issues in this poem and struggled with the cruelty of his time and won using special lexicons. The purpose of this research is to study the ideas presented in the Farazdaq's poem and to clarify the reasons for the power of his language implementing discourse analysis approach based on van Dijk's theory. The results revealed that his verbal ability in confronting the enemies and conveying his ideological concepts was due to his particular use of lexicons, syntax and figures of speech.

Abstract:

Dēnkard (Acts of the religion), written in Pahlavi, is a summary of 10th-century knowledge of the Mazdean religion and is described by Jean de Menasce on the title page of his translation as a ‘Mazdean encyclopedia.’ The Dēnkard VI (Book VI of the Dēnkard) is representative of late antique and early medieval Zoroastrian ethical ideas. This article analyzes Book VI of the Dēnkard based on modern moral philosophy and introduces it as a candidate for early consequentialism and capitalism. The first generation of Iranian studies scholars in the late 19th and early 20th centuries such as Buch, Darmesteter, and Menant were aware of these concepts and even explained some of them, but the next generation did not take them seriously. This article also analyzes paymān (the ‘right measure’), that is the ancient Iranian ‘golden mean,’ in Book VI of the Dēnkard and shows the similarities and differences between paymān and the Aristotelian ‘golden mean.’ Probably, due to the biblical tradition in the interpretation of ancient religious texts or the anti-utilitarianism and anti-capitalism atmosphere in the second half of the 20th century, many scholars like Shaked inclined to the view that paymān is the main ethical principle of the Dēnkard VI and neglected its consequentialist and capitalist concepts.

Abstract:

Hijab and modesty, as significant symbols of the Islamic lifestyle, play a crucial role in fostering a chaste life and supporting the foundation of the family. Accordingly, the effort to extract an epistemological model from religious texts, including Sahifa Sajjadiya, holds considerable importance for promoting the culture of modesty and hijab in the Islamic society of Iran. This endeavor provides an optimal epistemological framework for addressing existing challenges and offering practical solutions. The central question of this study is: What is the epistemological model presented by Imam Sajjad (AS) for promoting the culture of modesty and hijab? The findings indicate that within the luminous divine text of Sahifa Sajjadiya, it is possible to establish an educational framework encompassing the dimensions of faith, worship, and ethics, physical and biological aspects, social and political considerations, economic and professional domains, scientific and technological elements, and aesthetic and artistic dimensions. This framework aims to foster a life grounded in piety and chastity. In the epistemological model of Imam Sajjad and Sahifa Sajjadiya, the teaching of monotheism serves as the foundation for considerations related to appropriate attire. This is followed by understanding the philosophy of hijab and its social functions, seeking divine guidance for covering sins and returning to the ideal and Quranic standards of attire, cultivating self-esteem to value one's body and personal appearance, viewing immodesty as a grave sin, and utilizing internal capacities to confront immodesty. This article employs a descriptive-analytical methodology, utilizing library research tools and content analysis of Sahifa Sajjadiya

Abstract:

Background and Objective: Positive psychology, which focuses on human strengths and potential rather than on illnesses, has increasingly gained recognition in both literature and cultural discourse. Scholars in this field have categorized human strengths into six overarching virtues-wisdom, courage, humanity, justice, moderation, and transcendence known as universal virtues, each encompassing specific capacities. This study aims to explore the six virtues articulated in Martin Seligman’s theory of positive psychology and examine their corresponding capacities as represented in the supplications of Imam Sajjad (AS). Methods: This study adopts a descriptive-analytical approach utilizing library research methods. The primary aim is to identify and interpret the components of positive psychology within the supplications and prayers of Imam Sajjad (AS). By analyzing these texts, the present research seeks to offer a novel perspective and re-examine the supplications through the framework of positive psychology. The authors of the article reported no conflict of interest. Results: The analysis of Imam Sajjad’s (AS) supplications demonstrates a significant correspondence with the components of Martin Seligman’s positive psychology. Core elements such as gratitude, cultivating a positive relationship with God, focusing on the constructive aspects of life, and other comparable concepts in positive psychology are closely aligned with the themes and messages found in these supplications. In addition to their religious and devotional significance, the supplications encompass psychological and spiritual dimensions that are consistent with the foundational principles of Seligman’s positive psychology. These parallels offer deeper insights into Imam Sajjad’s (AS) supplications and provide a basis for integrating positive psychology concepts within a religious context. Conclusion: The principles articulated by Martin Seligman in the field of positive psychology are reflected within the supplications of Imam Sajjad (AS) in a more complete and perfect form. These supplications constitute a rich scientific and spiritual resource that warrants acknowledgment and deeper appreciation.

Abstract:

Examining the policies of the Umayyads and Marwanis toward Imam Sajjad (AS) after the event of Karbala is considered one of the important issues in understanding the political and social developments of the Shiites in the second half of the first century AH. On the one hand, it describes the activities of the Shiite community; on the other hand, it shows the influence and position of Imam (AS) in that era. This study specifically examines the historical sources of Shiites and Sunnis and tries to draw two interactive and confrontational paths of Umayyads and Marwanis toward Imam Sajjad (AS). The following research question is posed: during the Imamate of Imam Sajjad (AS), about 34 years, what was the Umayyads’ treatment toward him? Historical studies show that a specific pattern on this subject cannot be drawn. The Umayyads had a positive and sympathetic approach toward Imam during a period from Yazid to the late period of Abdul Malik ibn Marwan, but from the late period of Abdul Malik and his son Walid, they had a negative and confrontational approach toward him. This study specifically examines the historical sources of Shiites and Sunnis and tries to draw two interactive and confrontational paths of Umayyads and Marwanis toward Imam Sajjad (AS).

Abstract:

Introduction: Childhood is one of the most sensitive periods of life, providing an opportunity for comprehensive growth and development. Therefore, maintaining physical and mental health during this stage is of great importance. The right to health is one of the key and significant issues in both national and international arenas. Given the sensitive position of children (both physically and mentally), attention to this matter becomes even more critical for this demographic. Considering that the “Treatise on Rights” and “Sahifah Sajjadiyyah” symbolize a complete and comprehensive charter of rights for humanity, the aim of the present research is to examine the right to health for children in these two valuable works. Methodology: This research is qualitative and utilizes content analysis methods. Findings: The findings of the research indicate that the right to health in international documents encompasses various physical, mental, and even spiritual and social dimensions. This right is addressed in the “Sahifah Sajjadiyyah” and the “Treatise on Rights” of Imam Sajjad (AS) with a focus on “the right to health from a religious and ethical perspective and its criteria in all dimensions and aspects of human existence. ” This right is understood alongside various facets of rights, emphasizing that attention to health aspects goes beyond what is stated in international documents. Thus, the right to health from a religious perspective not only establishes and presents laws but also creates an environment and provides guidance in this area.
